I haven't been to Italy or Greece myself but I've heard that a lot of Greek/Italian people are very dark (not from tanning). The only Italian citizen I've met while traveling was literally a jew (the phenotype was unmistakable and my friend I was traveling with immediately thought the same).
I feel like there's not a whole lot of "Mediterranean Whites" left. Ancient Greeks/Romans were blonde hair, red hair and very light complexion. We still see some of the remnants of this in middle-eastern countries where many Greeks/Romans settled.
Anyone with the knowledge enough to take an educated guess to the number of them who remain?
