If you want a gaming OS that isn't Mossad/CIA CachyOS is probably the best bet as it is the closest thing to Arch Linux. The problem is that Nvidia sucks in Linux for gaming so it's only really a good option if you have an AMD GPU. AMD on Linux is pretty much perfect these days.

Cuts most of the BS from Windows until Nvidia supports Linux well. Can stop feature updates from their indian and AI code writers breaking shit for 2 years and you just get the security updates.

Is it secure? Hell no. For gaming though it's what you need to put up with atm. With Microwin you can at least turn off secureboot, TPM 2.0, the AI bullshit and dual boot a real OS for non gaming stuff. They tried to force TPM with Win 8, people just told them to fuck off and they relented. They snuck it back in on 11.

I usually just throw something like Mint on peoples PC that I know who needs a OS or that wants to use old hardware still, not because it's perfectly secure as most Linux distros can be compromised, but it's good for the normal person as a Windows alternative and throwing away perfectly good computers that lack TPM which is more about control than security.
