This is one of the big differences I notice, especially with East Africans; they have little to no respect for the elderly. I'll complain about Boomers as much as anyone, but I also make way in the hall for my older neighbours who have a hard time getting around.

We had an incident in my building where a bunch of these "youths" were hanging out in the stairwell, blocking one of my older neighbours. When he told them to move, they gave him a bunch of attitude and excuses and made him push pass. And these are just girls.
