Any good videos or info about coffee being bad that you'd recommend?

Not him, but caffeine essentially just tricks your brain into not feeling tired, and it also has a mild addictive effect. Why this is bad is obvious: you feel tired when your body needs rest. Not getting that rest can cause tiny amounts of damage (stress) to various systems that compounds to serious problems over the long term. And caffeine makes that worse because you're not just avoiding rest, but instead tricked into being more active.

The one case where I personally feel that coffee is fine is first thing in the morning. I know some people will argue that caffeine first thing in the morning disrupts your brain's natural waking-up process, but I live in the modern world with alarm clocks and schedules. I can't just wake up when my brain wants to wake up and wait for it to casually boot up every morning. Caffeine is a simple way to jumpstart the day, in my opinion.

In a nutshell: You rapidly end up dependent on caffeine intake to sustain the same level of energy you would have if you didn't drink it at all, or even less. That's a bum deal.

I was mildly addicted to coffee for like a decade. Quit it around 8 months ago and have way more energy than I ever did drinking it, and without the threat of headaches and fatigue if I don't spend my mornings chasing bean water.

It's basically common sense that something that makes you feel so good and gives so much energy is at the expense of of something else. It's engineering trade off.

Besides what the other people wrote, there is a reason why coffee is always given for free everywhere (office jobs, hospital, car dealership). Coffee makes you okay with bullshit. It makes you feel productive, useful and creative even when not. Read caffeine blues, look at mri study about caffeine cutting blood flow to brain. See how spider webs look when on caffeine vs. other drugs.

After quitting caffeine, I see the manic personalities of other caffeine drinkers around me. They don't shut the fuck up, they constantly interrupt and have the 40 cocks in college crazy eyes. I have more vivid dreams and no hangovers (stomach digestive and blood flow problems).

I’m cutting back on caffeine consumption (not completely going cold-turkey. I love black tea and dark chocolate lol) after finding out I’m pregnant. It’s been rough without it compounded by the ungodly amount of fatigue I’ve been feeling the past couple of weeks. Gotta stop being a big wuss about it and power through

Back in the 80s people were smoking cigars and cigarettes and blowing smoke all over the place including indoors.

There were large smoking sections inside every restaurants. Bars were full of smoke. People were smoking what they wanted. It was more free. Now you have to escape to have a smoke.

Well, at least I don't have to escape the smokers. What good is that "freedom" if it translates into tobacco jews getting rich, as I have to continually avoid toxic smoke, it's corrosive to smokers and also causes financial damage?

I remember the times where my family was stuck 18 hours in a car to travel across countries, and my parents felt the need to smoke in the car multiple times. It was horrible to me and my brethren.

My hatred for cigarettes is extremely high.

Ewwww. With that said it’s bullshit that private businesses, at least here in the New Orleans area, have no say in even having a small smoking section. That’s crazy to me.

Idk I don't hate ciggies or smokers but it def sucks to try and eat indoors and the smell is overwhelming the taste of your food.

I tried swapping alcohol with THC vape carts. I'm health conscious, high performing, and don't drink frequently. While both are unhealthy vices, the evidence we have today is that alcohol is far worse for you than weed is. I still believe that - why does alcohol give you hangovers but pot doesn't?

Unfortunately, all this did was make me feel like I could smoke more. I started smoking pot regularly to cope with the stress of my work life, as I got a new job that pays me very well ($400,000 a year and I'm in my 20s) but is hell on Earth.

In the beginning it worked to ease my stress. Very soon I started looking forward to hitting 6pm just so I could take a drag and play video games. Then I realized that working out started to feel less rewarding and more of a chore. I started being lazy and resentful at work. I couldn't sleep without it. This happened within the span of a MONTH of 4 to 5 times a week use - not years, a SINGLE month.

I'm not going to use it anymore (I threw out all my stuff) but I'd tell anyone thats curious to be careful. I thought I was the kind of person who didnt have an addictive personality. Lol

Kudos for having the willpower to pull back. Looks like you found out the goynip is even more dangerous than booze. Alcohol at least will punish you with a hangover when you overindulge, which can cause someone to reconsider and drink less next time.

Exactly! Pot is a slow death and the cost you pay could be your ambition.

Weed def causes hangovers of sorts. It massively impacts rem sleep and replaces and overloads your endocannibinoid production which helps with relaxation.

I'd stop smoking at 7pm, it would impact my sleep but only by a bit. I have the same rule for alcohol. My life isn't fun but I hope that I figure out what I need to do to change that soon.
