The overton window is indisputably controlled by "the media" and any change was intentionally permitted. In the event Fuentes brings up a good point, he's destined to water it down, contradict it or disavow it. At that point, he's not a useful or insightful barometer for any political thought or action. If Fuentes and his followers were threatening, technocrats like Musk, Thiel and Zuckerberg would simply algorithmically suppress him and his clips.
What Fuentes ultimately accomplishes is leading his fans astray and being an albatross around the necks of his few reputable allies. What do you suppose the hypothetical world where Elon Musk never bought Twitter looks like? I agree that nothing exists in a vacuum, but ordinary men are politically limited by their circumstances.
