Many birth controls work by making the uterus inhospitable to the zygote, e.g. through preventing implantation.

So yes, if it happens intentionally, it absolutely is abortion in the colloquial sense. Whether you kill the baby via poison or via blender/vacuum, you're still murdering the unborn child, which is what abortion is.

I find it shocking that we pump our young healthy girls full of synthetic estrogens/progestins to keep them from getting pregnant, meanwhile by some logic it is a literal felony to do the same to young healthy men (with synthetic androgens) because it may cause mood changes and temporary sterilization.
I can't even imagine something for men that would give them 3 years of artificial androgens without also giving them some sort of lasting damage to a major organ (probably heart, kidneys, and/or liver) let alone the damage to the reproductive system.
Society needs to wake the fuck up on birth control. It's a scourge.
