Yes, it's proven to work. "Regime change" they call it euphemistically, toppling a dictator, but it's just a form of "Democracy"-friendly occupation. Remember that the seeds for the Ukraine-Russia were planted in 2014, forcing Russia's hand. Today many people see Russia or Putin as some warmonger and aggressor. The same they did with Germany/Hitler.

That Maduro guy might have been alright". But it's all good, because Venezuela stays in the petro$ corner. This is all that matters. I could name a million other countries in history ruled by worse dictators than Maduro in both malevolence and incompetence, that America didn't give a solitary fuck about. Or that America put in charge in the first place.
Maybe the Venezuelans should have revolted themselves, if they felt so inclined to replace Maduro, rather than wait for America to do it. Rule no.1 of geopolitics: never let America do the regime change, it always ends up incomprehensibly worse.

See, the play is this. When they do this, the sanctions will stop, and they will allow the country to operate better. Let's say the conditions in the country were 4/10. The sanctions added -2. With the new puppet installed, even if it's 3/10, with the sanctions removed it will be 5/10. Also prepare for lots of gay sex, trannies, jewish oligarchs and more corruption. Yay Democracy and freedom.
Just to use this scale, Hitler's Germany got from a 2/10 in Weimar times into a ~9/10. The sanctions and other economic measures didn't hit as much back then as they do today, but without them it could have gone +1. At that time the US sure was 9 or 10 too.
