Is your wife expecting a little one? I hope so and God bless you and your family! The advice here is wonderful. In addition to the hospital stay, I would try to prepare a bunch of freezer meals before birth to make everyone's life a little easier, especially if you have other children at home. Bone broth is easy to make and full of collagen to help with healing.
Your wife obviously has a very important role, but this is where you as a husband and new father are going to shine. Stay close to your wife and especially your baby, drawing from your God-given role as protector and making sure that they are tended to. I don't think that you need to be fearful about this, but just be very diligent. Hospitals certainly serve a purpose but they are a business first and foremost.
