Its true and not controversial at all. If we stopped infantalizing our youth and instead expected them to behave accordingly then 16 wouldn't seem weird. The only reason it does now is because we have adult babies.

What's unhealthy : starting to think about marriage and a first / only child in your late 20 or into your 30's.

The distractions seem to be high and fast lately for all sorts of solutions. Am I the only one that thinks or observes this? There is no population collapse. It sounds like another hoax. Absolutely! Ideally our culture would embrace young White Christian couples getting married at 18 or so (sorry, my mama heart can't go any younger than that). Starting families right away, grandparents young and able-bodied enough to be helpful, great-grandparents still being alive...

I'm so fortunate that my children are growing up around (some of their) great-grandparents. Sure, they are elderly, but then they get to see it how we love and care for our family by helping them and tending to their needs. It's beautiful.

There is a package deal that makes this work. Get married and start a family at 19. Just like your parents did. Four grandparents, aged 38, living nearby, so there is plenty of support and advice.

A big part of this not working so well today is young people moving away to find work, and missing out on family support. That is *atomisation* and it pushes young people to put off starting a family because they need to be "well established" so that they can make it on their own.
