I'm not going to say this *isn't* evil, but it's a pretty shitty argument.

No evidence of that; no better than saying "owning guns leads to mass shootings". What we *do* know is that the vast majority of people who molest kids were molested themselves as kids. *That's* what normalizes it; the rationalization that if must be okay, otherwise something unthinkable has happened and I can't deal with that. There's *as much* evidence that porn acts as a release valve for people who have these degenerate impulses as the reverse. It's not *good*, but I'm far less concerned with the mentally ill spending all day cranking it to fake images than I am with *actual* child sex trafficking rings running our government, especially since the only way to fight it legislatively could easily be turned on everyone else at the same time (there's no difference between "porn" and "hate speech" from a legislative perspective).
I just read a good verse on this, 1st Corinthians 10:23. It's talking about eating sacrificial meat but applies to this as well; basically, it's not *technically* against God's law, but you still shouldn't do it because it may not be for the best or helpful. It's an individual moral struggle that actually *can't* be dealt with through external laws because it happens in your own head.

I'm not a fan of the "child molesters were molested themselves" argument as the catch all for an explanation. For one, it suggests molesters are victims (to an extent) and also that child molestation would disappear if people stopped being molested.
It ignores genetics. Here's the thing. Parents and family who molest their own family, are likely to have genetics that predispose them to pedophilia. So, even without the molestation we're more likely to see pedophilia within this family line because of the genetics but because of the genetics we're also more likely to see members of the family being molested. Thus, it gives the appearance that child molesters become child molesters because they were molested but in actuality, they become molesters because of their genetics that were passed into them by their family and because of these genetics passed into them by family, it's far more likely that they will be molested by a family member who shares similar genetics.
I actually couldn't care less what happens within other people's families. The issue is when these predators do it to other people's families who would normally not have incidents of pedophilia within their family because the molestation has damaging impacts on the members of the family that lack the pedophilia genetics and these people are the true victims.
I actually think more openness about pedophilia could potentially be a good thing because it might become easier to identify pedophiles and thus keep people's families away from harm's reach. Perhaps, something like a registry where you're allowed to self identify as a pedophile and the public has access to this record but by self identifying, you're allowed to consume AI generated child porn without penalty; however, if you refuse to identify yourself and you consume it then you get a prison sentence. This encourages pedophiles to identify themselves which can give families more information to help keep their children safe.
I also don't care about child sex rings if the children are children from other nations. If jews wanna fuck Thai or Chinese girls, then go ahead. It's when they fetishize White girls with blonde hair such that they create scenarios where they can procure these girls (or boys) that it becomes a problem to me.
