Seeking recommendations so I don’t have to partake in the jew subscription world of paying pajeets for a “service” that has degraded over time. Something that I can still open .doc and .xls files. I’m still running windows specifically for daily use. I remember not long ago having the office iso media that lasted for years without it being jew’ed to the max. Thank you.

Fuck Oracle. They did bad things to OpenOffice.

LibreOffice, hands down. Even supports VB macros for most functionality, or python for any unsupported VB features.

To be honest, I find Libreoffice and OpenOffice both to be kind of clunky and difficult to use because they're not entirely compatible with MS Office, at least they weren't in the past. After reading this post and everyone's comments, I'm now trying SoftMaker Office, which is nearly indistinguishable from MS Office. It will save by default to known file types, it can record and use macros and code (not that I use them, but I used to write VBA code years ago), and is attractive.

There are a lot of alternative to MS, so it's just stupid to give them a penny. I make it a point to always pirate MS products because that company has never acted in good faith with its customers since Gates started the company. I never even bought MS DOS or Windows 3.1.

keyforsteam.de for cheap keys. 95%+ of the time it works. If you want a license, you can buy it for a dozen bucks or so, even Windows 10. I've specified Afghanistan for tax purposes. Which makes it a 0% tax btw.

I use OpenOffice instead of word and excel, but I use it for personal purposes, so it doesn't have to be streamlined with anyone else.
