If you do not know how to cook, and you are above the age of 18, someone has failed you in your life. This is the hard truth of the matter. It is probably the single most useful day to day skill you can possibly have.

You do not need to go to restaurants to enjoy a decent meal, you can make one yourself

You spend much less money on eating out if you can cook

On the flip side, you get much more nutrition because your diet consists of more than what you can stick in a microwave, if you choose to save money and not eat out.

It also has social benefits. Women love men who can cook. Your friends will be impressed if you can cook. People like people who can cook.

It is not only a feminine skill. It is a human skill. Everyone should know how to cook, it is the most basic survival skill of all time.

If you can't cook, start by doing something simple like frying an egg. Then learn basic knife work and sautéing. Learn about flavor combinations, learn when and how to use a mirepoix (the most important and most versatile of all bases. I make a mirepoix almost every damned day, especially in the winter), learn where and when to use different seasonings and for what they will work the best. Learn the difference between a julienne, a batonnet, a dice, and brunoise, and learn how all of these slices impact the flavor and texture of a dish.

I could go on. I was inspired by a conversation I had with my father (who, indeed, taught me much about how to cook) to make this post. Build a foundational level of cooking and proceed from there. It's skill based, but cooking at least well enough that you don't have to rely on eating out or TV dinners is an absolutely essential part of being an adult. I consider it on par with being able to manage finances, file taxes, work a job, or being able to court women and start families. Once upon a time, if you didn't know how to cook you'd just starve and die.

A caveat: I guess the weirdos who eat everything raw need not apply though. You all keep... doing you, I suppose.

Furthermore, I consider that Israel must be destroyed

Another easy way to start out cooking is to get a crock pot. All you have to do is add your ingredients, mix them up, then turn it on and wait about 6 to 8 hours; it's brain-dead simple.

Half of cooking is cleaning. People forget that.

Furthermore, the destruction of Israel is not enough. All jews must be purged from Western society.

Clean as you cook, it makes things way easier.

Sir, we have dishwashers now

Cleaning up is not even a real bother

And if you're baking, use disposable paper sheets...

Yeah, but it’s a breeze now with things like air fryers, crockpots, and egg boilers. Clean while you cook. Also, when you cook, make sure to make a large amount to freeze some for later. I enjoy podcasts while I do all of this.

I grew up eating frozen waffles with fake hfcs syrup and bologna sandwiches on white bread and when i became independent i learned all the skills to cook literally any dish. I can attest that if you learn to cook it will certainly improve your life.

The good thing about restaurants getting so bad is that I unironically like to eat at home more. We just got another baby so I had to step up and do the cooking. It's actually satisfying to hear the kids and wife compliment my meals.

Plus, all restaurants near me have very sketchy cooks. The nons in the food industry are fucking gross

It’s a game changer money, and time wise if you have the freezer space.

I split a cow with my cousin every now, and then for starters. Better quality meant for cheaper than the trash at most groceries. I usually do all my cooking and prepping on the weekends. The only thing I’ll do during the week is make some tuna or chicken salad to have to pick at for a few days. I also eat a lot of canned sardines.

any tips from how you do it or would like to do it?

I have some things I adapt but I still need to get a better "system" of things down

I usually do the cook extra and have leftovers in fridge thing for a few days

not sure if I have really done a whole lot besides the equivalent of that

The first thing I do is buy a whole cow with a friend or family member. Do you have enough room to store half a cow?

I worked at an upscale restaurant when I was in school, I learned all the basics about the base sauces how to prep and cook (what was on our menu) pasta sauces from scratch etc… I can confirm a big plate of Osso Buco, or schnitzel will impress a woman, don’t neglect sides and salad either. I decided to learn some of my favorite Asian foods as well as, teriyaki chicken, and fried rice some years back, so I really have no need to go to any restaurants now but I have an entire cabinet dedicated to that because you can’t use European substitutions.

If you can’t “cook”today with mOOdern tech, it’s time to grab a rope and a rafter.

Crockpot, air fryer, egg boiler. You’re welcome. It’s not cooking, but don’t forget how easy chicken salad, and tuna salad is to make. I always have some of that in the house. Scrambled eggs on the stove are simple too.

Cooking is great! You get freedom to choose now jew poisoned goyslop, you get to create, you learn appreciation wha nature has to offer. Additionally, you don’t participate into goyslop economy, nor will you support a pajeets salary into having him liver the goyslop to you, and you contribute to his suffering.

I will support the local spanish farmer over a pajeet's wages or a jewish ceo's pockets any day of the damned week (no, not talking about beaner wage slaves on american farms. I am in spain)

The one most important thing to learn about cooking is salt, always add salt to food that you're cooking that doesn't have salt. For example, if you got get some ground beef to make burgers, form the burgers and salt them prior to cooking them. Don't bother salting bacon, sausage, hot dogs, etc., those already have salt.

Salt is almost always necessary. Don't be afraid of MSG either. It's not bad for you and it deepens the flavor of almost any dish

I've actually never used MSG in cooking, but I should. Salt is basically the first stage flavor enhancer, you add it to enhance the flavor of what you're cooking, not to make things salty.
