I watch a fair bit of media critics on youtube, and I always laugh when they ask "why do studios keep making woke trash that they know will lose them money?"
The people bankrolling these studios *have* money, what they want is *control*. The media *itself* is the message: "everything is mediocre and always has been", "societal roles are the opposite of what you think (and what, in actuality) they are", "everyone agrees with our synthetic monoculture", etc.
It's not even a matter of not consooming media slop, it's important to preserve historical works to show people today that, yes, we once had media that inspired and challenged people rather than demoralized them.
