The guy in the example (outdoorboys on YouTube) made enough money with his law firm to be able to afford these "survival trips" and travel to remote beautiful places for his channel. Nothing against him, I like the guy, but bad example. I'd like to see a real example of a guy with a family living innawoods.

When I moved out of home, I found my school exercise books from when I was four years old (I think) and learning the alphabet.

One day, when I must have been bored, I turned the dots above i and j letters into stick-men with dots for heads.

 Teacher gave me a red sad-face-stamp and told me not to draw the stick-figures.

The next page was full of stick-figures surrounding every letter. A hundred of them. Perhaps my first fuck-you to authority. One of my favorite memories.

I can't believe any mentally healthy 18 year old would care about respecting mediocrity.

Your ancestors had to voyage on a ship, often with slim rations of food and water, for months to get to America. When they got here, they only had one chest full of possessions. Maybe one good axe. They had to fight off indians, cut down trees and build their own cabin. They didn't have toilets, sewers water lines, or electricity. They were lucky if they even had a horse or a mule.

As bad as America is now, you still have easy ways to survive and you have battery powered tools, generators, weapons, water, toilets, refrigeration, HVAC, powerful engines and trucks and tractors.

Can't afford a house? Then build one. Can't afford land or don't want to deal with permits and yellow and red tape? Then move somewhere where you can.

If shit isn't working out in your home town, then go on that long risky voyage like your ancestors did. Take chances. Take risks. Calculated, well thought out risks. Bet on yourself. Get off the drugs and alcohol and sharpen your mind and focus on goals.

I'd rather live in a small cabin i built myself and be debt free than live in a mcMansion and owe jews $600,000 for it and be enslaved to the daily rat race to service that debt.

There's lots of famous people throughout history but i tend to think that the best men who lived are mostly forgotten or only remembered by surviving family. They weren't movie stars. They didn't sell their memoirs to a publisher. They didn't like posing for photographs.

You guys all remember Vlad The Impaler but there were men in my Wallachian Army that were fierce in battle, excellent decision makers on the fly, great hunters, the best foragers and craftsmen and swordsmen and there aren't paintings of them or biographies about them. For many of them God was their witness.

Pioneers had families to build and saw a future in front of them, I have neither. Owning land means bills to pay and getting money to pay the bills requires living away from places with affordable land so it would just end up being an unusable money sink.
