> If he really believed that they were destroying his country and would always put the wellbeing of other Jews before fellow Germans, why wouldn't he want to kill them all?
The "final solution" was deportation to Palestine under the Haavara agreement. They saw no need to kill them if they could just deport them.
One of the more hilarious (to me) aspects of the holohoax is that the Himmler speech where he says "Ich meine die 'Judenevakuierung': die Ausrottung des jüdischen Volkes." is translated as "I am talking about the 'Jewish evacuation': the extermination of the Jewish people." this is taken as proof that they exterminated jews.
The German word for exterminate is vernichten. Ausrottung means to extirpate, to root out. In context we would say something like "total removal" but in another context exterminate would be a reasonable translation, if you pull weeds out by the roots they die. This intentional mistranslation has been bandied around has proof of genocide.
This to me sums up the insidious nature of the hoax. If you read it with the mindset of guilt the intentional mistranslation isn't completely obvious "jewish evactuation" is a joke and we're really killing them. If you read it with a neutral stance or any degree of skepticism the dishonesty is readily apparent. They're clearly just deporting them.
