The real question is, what are they considering a “couple”. If a couple doesn’t stay together at least year, I don’t even consider it a serious LTR. Any less than six months, and is it really more than fuck buddies, especially today?

Back a century ago it was usually the family who arranged the marriage, usually to other families with similar beliefs, values and socioeconomic status
This ensured kids were being brought up in a steady rate rather than wasting fertile years looking for the "perfect mate" like today

"Couples" or "someone I dated for a while and had sex outside of marriage with"? Go to church, find a wife, live a happy life together according to what God taught us. Or don't go to church, use the dating apps, hook up and be depressed with whores who will leave you for someone better in an instant.
