I thought "horseshoe theory" was the idea that on both sides there are oftentimes agreed-upon ends with different solutions? E.G. the left hate Trump because they think he's a Nazi, the right hate Trump* because he doesn't act in their interests anymore. In either scenario the conclusion is the same but the method upon which it is reached is entirely opposite.
*More than they did last week. I've seen a lot of people turning against him because he's gone mask-off.

Yes, that's one meaning of it. The other is that Nazis = communists because uuuuh, uuuh, both are authoritarian or whatever, both oppose the status quo, look how they both hate Trump (ignore the reasons) - therefore horseshoe theory.
Also we don't go into details, the abstraction only lasts as long as ignore prevails.
This whole post is misunderstanding of horseshoe theory. It simply describes arriving at the same conclusion from different approaches, [as illustrated by this short informational video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev373c7wSRg)
You're correct - this whole post is a misunderstanding of what horseshoe theory actually is. You arrive at the same conclusion from different sides, [and I will post this video for the third time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev373c7wSRg) because Ryan Long is funny as shit, and it gives an excellent illustration of the horseshoe observation (I won't even call it a "theory" anymore - it really is just an observation).
It's cope by people still stuck in the Left/Right paradigm. You know, the same people who say "socialism means the government building roads" or who accept every form of degeneracy imaginable, so long as they're allowed ten or so years to get used to it.
The fact is, there are people who believe the State should care for the people but want zero immigration, and there are people who push "social justice" but want the banks to control what is allowed to be published.
Horseshoe theory simple handwaves this reality by saying "they're all extremists".
