There were two girls I dated when I was in my late teens to early 20s where it didn't work out and for the longest time I grieved over them.
But this weekend I was thinking what would have happened if I had ended up with either of them, and knowing me at the time and knowing them, those would have been very dark timelines where I would not have become financially successful or progress up the ladder in my career the way I did because I did not end up with them and would have likely ended up poor and destitute.
There's an old saying "Rejection is God's protection" and I'm thinking I was protected at the time by God.
