A possibility I see is that with mind-to-mind communication, we'd quickly lose our individuality. If we all thought exactly the same with all the same nuances then what differentiates us? Maybe its best that data transfer between human minds is kept low.

Then there are various backdoors in programs, hardware and operating systems.
