"greatest" and "worst" are both lagging. 50s-70s were the peak beacause older generations worked their ass off and there was no ((central banking)).
degeneracy started in the 70s but it takes a long time to show up, even 50 years later we still haven't hit the bottom

I could agree that the 50s were probably the last peak of society, being the culturally productive years of the WWII generation. The 60s onward were running on the fumes of that productivity
