My last 5 or so X accounts got banned. I made a new one and found out you need two emails to make an account because most emails require you to setup a secondary email tied to your new email so you can verify your account with X (or anywhere that needs verification).

When I found a way to get two different anonymous email accounts tied together then made an X account (all done under a VPN of course), I was met with "human verification" that took 4 tries and nearly half an hour or longer just to get through (a punishment system meant to dissuade through hassle/annoyance).

I finally got my account working and in the beginning things were great. Then X somehow got access to my location services through my cell phone (I swear I never turned this on) and it was right around the time X was experimenting with potentially adding your location flag to your posts. My posts for X would show where I was located despite my VPN because of the location services through my phone so I blocked X's access to it through their settings and on my phone. Nearly immediately after I did, all my posts on X got shadowbanned but my account was never banned. When I post on X it just doesn't show up, at all. Not in hidden posts and no record of a post except the post counter goes up but the post disappears. This has gone on for a week.

I googled the problem and found some people posting online saying they believe it's done when an account is anonymous (conclusion other people came to when I had come to a similar conclusion).

I decided to test it out by enabling location services again.

I posted and now my post shows up as "this post is unavailable" rather than just completely not showing up. After a couple minutes my post became visible for the first time and it gained significant views compared to anything before I enabled location services.

I turned off location services and my posts disappear again. It's really blatant. Only my post where I posted with location services on shows up.

It's clear to me X is working to de-internet anyone it cannot trace. I suspect all companies will start doing the same soon as digital IDs work into society. Russia has an AI service for example that requires biometrics to access or an email the government can track the user of.

We're moving into full blown control and everyone on the right is mostly silent about it.

Makes you wonder how they haven’t solved the bot problems

They don't want to solve the bot problem. They want their J bots and no one else's.

Last time I tried to make a twitter alt account a few years ago, giving up a cell number was mandatory. I don't have a cell so whatever.

Still got my original account from 2009 but twitter isn't fun anymore. Elon can have the account back if he likes.

Oh no.

Back to the internet before the socials.

Does anyone remember when we used to develop protocols to suit specific needs? HTTP is not the be-all end-all protocol. I'm sick of pretending it is.

The internet was never made with the intent to anonymise its peers. Go back to the original DARPA RFP and how Berkeley engineered the TCP/IP stack. Then the CIA always used its shady shell companies to fund tech companies such as Google, FB, Twitter, Palamtir, etc. That's why the United States Naval Research Laboratory created Onion Routing and Tor to protect American Intelligence online. And no, HTTPS with a VPN protect you as much as a broken condom.

Protect you from who though?

If I'm King White Man, the jews will find me to kill me on the internet regardless of the VPN but if I'm just random dude posting about how jews are evil, the local police force might not find me so easily to throw me in jail for antisemitism with a VPN. It's just meant to throw off low level hunters.

> but if I'm just random dude...

Enjoy while it lasts. Soon they'll be deploying social credit system, and an improved surveillance system automated by an AI developed by Palantir gay jews then enforced by zogbots. If you need a concrete example look no further than the UKaynistan.

True so basically, I'll have to stop using technology. Not the worst thing in the world I guess.

Try using Developer mode to set a mock location.

Edit - Update: after an hour of posting with a location spoofer and VPN set to same location. My posts are now visible on X again and I'm getting engagement. The thing is, I don't believe the location spoofer probably works. I bet X has my real location.

I used a location spoofer app and set my VPN to the same location. X didn't change for me like it did when I used my actual location.

X likely can tell when a spoofer or VPN is used. I bet if I disabled my VPN it would work but then that's not enough protection to my anonymity for me.
