You are correct, but I don’t think the question is meant to be taken 100% literal. Basically that young man/kid in his current state would be fucked even if he had a gun. He’s not mentally fit to accept the reality that is, and behave accordingly in that moment. You can tell by his goofy cavalier behavior and how he has to be calmed down by GS.
