Using apps is the problem. You need to invest in a device that connects to the television and runs an adblock browser. It's worth it. I've been doing it for years with a PC and an HDMI cable. You can also use a chrome cast or something similar from your phone or a tablet. It's not that difficult.

Hmmm.. What browser are you using? I've never had that problem using Ublock origin with Firefox, or Brave browser and my chrome cast?

Edit- I just fired up my Chromecast pulled up YouTube on Brave, tested out 3 or 4 different videos.. No ads.
