I've always had my sympathies towards the clergy who were killed and exiled after the Norman invasion, my ancestors being largely Celtic and indigenous British on my mother's side. The Anglo spirit will always have some suspicions about continental Europe.

But looking at the state of the Church of England today, I can see that there are times when a more righteous nation ought to take over and probably spill a little blood in the process.
