Alternately, assuming a shekel was a dollar/ounce of silver: $48/oz * 30 oz = $1440. Plus I haven't seen a wage below $15/hour in a while. Fast food, grocery bagger, and lowest level factory work all pay $15-$19 in a low cost of living area.

The USD lost 51% of its value in the last five years of which 20% just within the first six months of this year. If we were to be pedantic about this math we should convert everything to gold as its value has been stable for hundreds of years.
