The biggest shift will need to be a reliance on each other instead of sucking down the spigot of fiat currency that we are all enslaved to. In order to do this there will need to be such harsh economic conditions that people are forced into self reliance again.

And I do not mean that as individuals, but self reliance within our collectives, our communities, instead of a bilateral system of individual (slave) to central banker relationships we have now.
