I spent some time pondering about morality and my conclusion is that you cannot be moral without god.
Let say some atheist wanna be moral, who would dictate what morality is for him? If he let another man dictate what morality is, who would watch the watchers?

Morality does not necessarily mean good. Morality are the rules that guide behavior. People make their own morals or follow someone else's. If Christians don't want to think for themselves about it, then they have an easy out -- defer to the first god's rules. If atheists want to think for themselves then they have to weigh the pros and cons of their actions against their own thoughts and their physical environment and consequences.
Christian: I shouldn't punch this person because god told me to be nice. God tells me to behave a certain way and I will be his slave and abide because I want to go to heaven.
Atheist: I shouldn't punch this person. I wouldn't like it that happened to me. I want to be nice of my own free will.
But I will 100% agree that a lot of atheists are just terrible nasty people in need of good direction.

You cannot be nice by yourself because you yourself cannot dictate what morality is. Nobody can. Morality has always been a collective thing in society.
Christians aren't nice because God told them to. They are nice because their views aligned as a collective. You put a sole Christian into a muslim town, would he be nice to his neighbor? No, he would curse them every day.
Atheists on the other hand does not have the agreed upon standards of morality, each to their own interpretation, as you yourself said, "be nice of my own free will". You simply cannot be moral that way.
Why not? Is there some kind of fundamental law of science that prevents a non religious person from behaving good?
It sounds like you think atheists are bad people for not believing. I was raised going to church every Sunday for years. By the time I was 13 /14 figured it was just lies to get ppl to behave a certain way. I just played along and pretended and it was all kinda cringe to me.
But I will tell you this. I don't hate Christians. Not at all. They're usually good folk even if their mysticism makes no logical sense.
You are not bad for not having faith. You are bad because you think your judgement and your morality supersede the others. Being atheist means you believe you are the ultimate arbiter of truth out there, and there's no higher being than your own body.
Most religious folks (except islam and judaism) behave in a good way because they believe in the judgement of God/Buddha/heaven/hell whatever in the afterlife, not because they are brainwashed by "mysticism".
"Do good deeds" is not limited to Christian. Ask yourself why people across different continents and religions share common belief that "do good deeds" is the way to salvation in the afterlife.

I have never gotten an answer from atheists on this question
If there's no one to decide what morality is (some authority), then anyone can claim whatever they want is moral
This viewpoint can justify some of the worst things, like you could just dismiss their ideology as justifying child abuse and so on
Now, some immoral things create practical problems, like stealing or acts of violence, so a "libertarian" code might somewhat emerge where violent acts are "frowned upon", but this doesn't really prevent anyone from still justifying whatever they think they want and going after it, regardless if the thing is illegal.
Still, people can enforce some of these basic rules by like attacking someone for example if they are attacking you, so then criminal-minded people might think twice before trying to victimize random people.
The problem with American society is that White people here have not been exposed to White people's culture. White people's culture has elaborated countless system of moralities that do not rely on "this book says so".
Aristotle, Marcus Aurelius, Kant, etc. There are tons of philosophies that provide a system of morality which is much more coherent and deep than the one of the Abrahamic religions.

How do you know *god*'s morality is the objective truth when all the evidence are subjective hearsays? Do you really think chopping up 200 penises to buy a woman (like David did) is a morally righteous thing??
You really should read Thomas Pane's Age of Reason if you have 3 digits IQ (if not, stay Christian).
God morality toward human is that of a father toward his son. If I have to cut down 200 to save my son, so be it, and it is moral and righteous to do so.
