I've never even heard the guy talk so I have no idea about any of the things some here say about him, but I think the bigger picture as it pertains to us is the reaction to his death, the celebrations, and the media telling outright lies to cover for those celebrating. It's what they thought Kirk represented.

Those people feel like they just killed you, I, and everyone else here by proxy. If given the chance, they'd shoot each of us in the throat, record it, celebrate it, and make memes of it. Imagine how it must feel to be in Sam Hyde's shoes right now.

I don't think Hyde really realised how right he was in saying "When we win, do not forget that these people want you broke, dead, your kids raped and brainwashed, and they think it's funny." I think it's sinking in for him and many other right now. Before we might have said "If they had their ideal dystopia they'd do that", because it seems like something preventable, something somewhat distant that may never happen, but it's here now before any of us were really ready.
