It use to go:
God ->> Clergy ->> Men (including kings)
Then some King bucked and it became
God ->> King ->> Clergy ->> Men
When we did away with Kings, we didn't go back to the original way, we let secular governments fill that role of King in our theological framework..... thats why you can have modern oxymoronic constructs like "homosexual Christian" or "Judeo Christian" etc...
When exactly was it God > Clergy > King? I seem to remember only times of God > King > Clergy, of course Henry VIII makes it seem like that only started with him but even decisions like King Henry III and King Edward I and Saint King Louis IX, or we could go back to King Alfred the Great and Charlemagne that makes me think it was God > King > Clergy. It seems infinitely more likely to me that the Clergy will collectively get jewed before a single King does when observing a lot of history.
I'm saying that the Catholic Church throughout the last 2000 years has had Kings say "fuck you" to the Clergy and expel and kill jews regardless of what they said or thought instead of listening to them
