He also hated the Soviet Union and communism with a passion, but they called him crazy, drugged him then publicly shamed him, then had the balls to name a CV (carrier) after him which John McCain the senator and son of the ex admiral of the Pacific fleet, until he drove through 2 Typhoons, killed a few of his colleagues and caused a major fire, because he shot off dumbfire ZUNI rockets into another plane while still on the deck.


USS Forrestal is taught as how not to do damage control on a carrier. Yorktown is true damage control. Now that is a legendary Carrier with a crew that is tougher than woodpecker lips.

That was A Soviet tactic to discredit some dissident they could not outright kill or disappear. Declare them crazy and lock them up.
