Initially, I was skimming some articles about the Nepalese government overthrow, the third after Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the region over the past few years.
But it turns out that that wasn't the only major event today. As soon as I saw this in the sidebar, I immediately thought to log in here to see what's going on.
AFP's response mirrors my own thinking. I have never been a follower of Charlie Kirk. I don't think that any genuine man of the Right cares what Charlie Kirk or Turning Point USA has to say. I don't like the little that I have heard from him. He had no Right-Wing concerns of which I am aware: he was hostile to racialism, anti-individualism, 'anti-Semitism', and the like. At the same time, however, this cowardly sniper attack on him should be uniformly condemned. Whomever killed Kirk did so because he believed that Kirk was the real deal rather than some 'colourblind' liberal-conservative whose views are closer to the Left and particularly Centre than to the Right. Thus, in that sense, his death is relevant to Rightists the world over. Put simply, they did to him what they would love to do to all of us. These same people cheer on the deaths of Russian soldiers over the same misunderstanding.
Republicans have been remarkably passive: no one has taken a shot at any high-profile Democrat despite the three or so failed attempts on Trump's life. Republicans better resemble hippy pacifists than the White Leftists of the 1960s. And I presume that they will remain that way even after this.
People are saying that the Democrat politicians appallingly refused to have a moment of silence upon news of Kirk's death. Make no mistake, these people are essentially sympathetic to the assassination. So, if some MAGA type takes things into his own hands and knocks off some Democrats, I will not be surprised, and they clearly had it coming. If some high-profile Democrat gets shot dead, my immediate thought will be: 'Yeah? Well, that's what you lot did to Charlie Kirk'.
The loss of any White life is a tragedy beyond measure.
Charlie was "lost" when he betrayed his race and gave himself over to the service of our enemies.
