Several words have synonyms. Gender was useful for prudes, like heck for "hell". Blame the fucks that tried to make it something it wasn't.

Gender was used as synonym for sex without the associated meaning of intercourse from as long as I can remember till trans-ideology made progress in appropriating gender as a synonym for ''**social roles**'', and then back to ''sex but sex is also a social role'' to obfuscate reality.
