My parents and grandparents were able to fully furnish their homes with solid wood items that still hold up to this day. All while being on a single income.
Now on a double income, we can still afford to furnish our house, but with cheap Ikea and Wayfair shit. I can still get the same level of quality items my parents have, but they are unaffordable, because money has been so devalued.

gotta say though, i recently bought a $400 Toro push lawnmower that may be the biggest piece of shit i’ve purchased in my life, completely different than the tank Toro push mower we had in the 90’s.
