Having a wife/GF while in the military in modern day is a mistake. I would argue being in the military, where theres no actual patriotism but only mercs looking for free education and gibs, is also a mistake. Back in the old days, men went in young and were treated like heroes when they got out, so going to the military was a means of attracting women, but since the 60s, the US miltiary has been unjustly (and sometimes very justly, considering what they did to Europe, Japan, and during desegregation) hated by women because of (((mass media))) portraying any white men fighting for anything other than letting jews commit usury as the unequevicoable villains, meaning that women no longer really go for men in the military, unless said women are also in the military (no doubt to just have random sex with men)

Hard to have a hopeful outlook after getting betrayed like that, but good women are out there.

I had the same thing happen - "knew" a girl through most of high school (knew of her mostly - her sister was in my class). We dated seriously after becoming freshly-minted college grads (different universities). I went on a fishing trip to no-roads, fly-in, land-on-a-lake Canada (no electricity, no cell service, just propane and a cabin).
