You forgot the part where they BTFOed all the jews they found in the holy land and on the way back, and there arent many women left worth fighting for.

But during the first crusades a lot of Christians were tricked into fighting via the jewish fable of Prestor John. They were killed and their families that tagged along were taken into slavery. The jews who lent them money for the adventure seized their land and property when they failed to return. Back in their homelands villages and towns were deserted.
