It requires people to get off of their asses. Dooming and glooming is way more common than taking action. And it's a constant negative feedback loop. Doomers doom because they don't think anyone will take action. People don't take action because they know that everyone is dooming, nobody will join along, and everyone will accuse them of being a fed.
