Performative consumerism/"nerd culture" has arguably receded since those days. Superhero movies have begun flopping at the box office, Funko Pops are pretty much universally frowned upon, no one cares about Star Wars anymore, there's been notable backlash against the Switch 2, adults who collect toys and legos are rightfully mocked again, and so on and so forth. It may have been driven that way by economic factors, but the "debate" has been nudged to a healthier place than where it was a decade ago.

I agree with you but the NFL still has a chokehold on lots of men, especially blue collar workers. I’m sick and tired of grown men screaming at each other about sports ball!

When i travel to visit friends a few states away everyone is OBSESSED with football. I simply refuse to participate and bully most of them out of it. They still sneak off to look at their phones or pull the game up on a TV somewhere. They've emotionally invested themselves into how this jew owned team of niggers performs. It's weird. Not to mention that much of the officiating seems rigged meaning that it isn't even genuine competition.
I walked through the legos aisle in a walmart. It's like $30 for the very smallest sets, with larger lego sets going for $60+
It's just plastic fucking blocks. Fuck Lego the greedy fucks.
I had a starter motor and solenoid for my truck shipped to my door for less than $40. That's someone pulling the part, marketing it online, packaging it, a carrier taking it across many states. Yet $40 wouldn't even buy me a miniature plastic block lego set that melts in the sun. Overpriced plastic garbage.
The funny thing is that cultural shift is because of us "tiktok skibidi" zoomers. We may have no attention span but we will make fun of you if you like marvel or nintendo.
