At some point, you've provided for your own needs, and you look towards providing for the next generation.

If you have kids and they're old enough to have that sort of conversation, talk with them to figure out how you can work for their future, what kinds of things they want to do and how you can prepare the path for them.

100% correct. Life is about living and continuing life. We are the universe experiencing itself, and if you can find fulfillment in contribute neaniningfully to increasing understanding. However, the stronger biological imperative of survival means you will likely be fulfilled in dedication to perpetuating life itself, to caring for and growin the future of your people.

Some of the laziest people I know either don't have kids or work for people who don't. I don't think this is a coincidence.
