I'm reminded of Jesus running the money changers out of the temple. they cornered the market on the only type of silver coin that the temple would accept for the jewish people to tithe, which they were required to do. and they were charging insane amounts to exchange other silver coins into the required, accepted coin.

Nope. If you read the story, He threw them out of the temple because it was a place of worship, and it had been turned into a place of commerce.

That novel idea has nothing to do with the reason Jesus cleansed the temple.
