I believe the prosecutor only needs to prove 2 crimes of a set number of crimes. If he can show that P Diddy was committing those crimes through his organization, then they have him on RICO and can throw the book at him. They likely dropped those other charges because they don't need them. They want the jury to focus on the easiest to prove crimes and come to the conclusion that he is in violation of RICO.
