The "locusts" of revelation 9 could have been a reference to the Roman Army under Titus that besieged Jerusalem, since the duration of the "locust" plague (5 months) matches the duration of of Titus' siege (from april to september, 5 months). Apparently, there was a period of time during the siege where the Romans allowed a large number of Christians to escape, just as the "locusts" were forbidden from harming those sealed by God.
All through the lens of the Old Covenant jews being cut off and cursed, becoming the primary enemies of Christians.

Helps break the spell so many "Christian Zionists" are under, Gentry's here is short like 2h total so good one to save.
(the language they don't understand Deut is referring to would be Latin of the Romans, seems clear this is what John is pointing back to, Jerusalem is being judged for killing the Messiah via the curses of disobedience).
The seals on the scroll being the divorce papers against the jews, then comes the trumpet and bowl judgments (70AD, Josephus records 1.1 million of them being lured in to Jerusalem as they thought it would be safe and being destroyed, many by giant white stones the Romans launch over (Josephus records) and Revelation prophesies as giant hail stones; God stoning them to death for adultery just as the OT warned if they turned from Him).
Since Josephus never read Revelation, it was a small circulating letter too far away from where he was (800+ miles from where he was in Rome to the churches John wrote to, and he would have had no interest), it's amazing to read his account and how it lines up so close to Rev.
