The boomers I know tell stories about having to put the family dog down because they couldn't afford to feed him while a family of 7 is living in a camper in the back of a truck. Seriously, they have endlessly traumatizing stories that they told me, despite my complaints as a kid, to ensure we didn't end up soft.
Jewish pilpul is literally defined as the splitting of hairs, and jews will split us across any divide we allow them. Our ancestors are not our enemies.
