Nah, it goes a bit further than that. Interracial marriage would have never even been accepted had interreligious marriage not been normalized first (which is such an abomination that its one of the main causes for God flooding the world, alongside sodomy and demon worship, and coincidentally if you look at biblical history, religion-mixing also pre-ceded the Israelites falling into idolatry by adopting the demons of their foreign wives). Its actually a commandment of the Catholic Church that mixed marriages should be treated to the same degree of taboo as incest, because religion-mixing is just as dysgenic as race-mixing. In fact, I would argue that race-mixing is allowed by God as a punishment for men tolerating mixed religious marriages.
