I bet it's like this for most of these companies.
My landlord is rated as one of the best places to work in Canada, but I know for a fact that the front line staff (building supers and maintenance) are both treated, and paid, like garbage.
When they say "best place to work", they mean for management.

Yes, absolutely. As with my banking example, the closer you are to the customers, the worse the pay and treatment.
The closer you are to the CEO, all the better. That's true almost everywhere, regardless of industry.
