Politics aside just having your father being that much of an insufferably embarrassing manchild is going to basically mean the kid has to either overcorrect to be as little like them as possible, or just turn into an utterly effeminate fag. There's no chance of "middle ground normality" there.
I also don't know what the demographics are of Destiny's audience, but I'm going to bet that it's mostly millennials and there's a massive dropoff around late 20's / early 30's.
