Ariel Toaff is modern and exposed the jewish medieval blood rituals which got him censored internationally, his father was a rabbi so presumably he was raised orthodox.

There is an English translation of his work at Unz's site if I remember correctly. I started to go through it, but it reads more like a novel than a dry documentary.

When I was in high school, I had some jewish friends. They invited my over for dinner / games.
They did NOT feed me as promised, nor play games. instead they busted out the talmud and the entire family gave me hours long lessons on why they are Jews for Jesus and why I should accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior.
