Honestly from what I've seen hardcore gamers are often worse than junkies and alcoholics. At least the latter are forced to go outside to get their shit whereas gamer NEETs can literally stay inside 24/7 with their addiction and developing a phobia of human interaction in the process.

Back in my day……..

Gaming was about playing with buddies at the arcade, or at least on splitscreen. Then there was early online gaming where you played to beat the other person/team, not “level up” and receive some bullshit. You played because the gameplay was actually fun and “addictive” because of the crazy great wins, and moments you had with your frens. The shit that’s developed in the last 15-20 years is horrid, and disgusting. It’s all about buying a game that barely works out the box, while most of it is also locked behind hours/days of grinding, and/or micro transactions. NOPE!
