Everyone on the wrong side of history did fight for no reason. They should not have fought, and their service is not to be respected. They fought for the enemy. No allied soldier in WW2 deserves respect for their service. It is not dishonorable to say that they fought for the wrong side. Dishonor is lying to save face, pretending they are heroes when their sacrifice directly lead to the world we find ourselves in. They are traitors at worst, fools that were tricked into being used as cannon fodder at best.

I can respect someone for trying to do the right thing while making mistakes because everyone makes mistakes.

the right thing? what right thing? exactly what did they think they were they fighting for? Were americans fighting the japanese who bombed pearl harbor while they were massacring germans in europe? what did the brits fight for when (((the government))) declared war on germany who had no intention of invading britain and actually admired the british people?

They didnt have access to even 1% of the information we have now. They did what they thought was right based on what they were told. They couldn't go on Twitter or 4chan to dig for the truth.
