Yeah, XBX is retarded/oblivious on this one. Happens to the best of us. She’s not concerned about his sentence. She’s concerned about her own safety, but obviously doesn’t want to look “racist” by completely moving away. You can see she’s terrified to look at him, and he’s giving her the you’re going to die look. She finally steps away a few inches at one point. Don’t get confused through, he’s not looking at her with such disdain, and hatred mostly because of her”failing” him, it’s mostly because she’s white.
In a moment of instinctual clarity i believe you are correct that she was concerned for her safety when she caught a glance how he was looking at her.
But psychologically i think she does the job because she empathizes for these nigger criminals. She tells herself that they had a poor upbringing or blames society at large for this nigger's desperation climaxing in his crime spree. This nigger was only a victim of circumstances, you see. And that's how she defends them in her own mind, even if the judge tended to disagree in this case.
