These movies are HUGELY poignant if you know the clues to follow. Eating the apple, departing the firmament, choosing to live beyond paradise, fallen angels, etc.
HUGE biblical themes run throughout all 3 films, which is odd because two tranny jews wrote the shit.
I guess it's about how you interpret it, because it really is a hodgepodge mix of jew shit and subtle anti jew clues. I mean, the lead ship they're in for most of the time is called the Nebuchadnezzar... lol.
The Merovingian conversation in the second film is great insight into jewish control and manipulation.
I don't know, most people treat these as throwaway films, especially the second and third, but they really are all great movies with some really powerful themes.

I thought it was written by a couple weirdo jews? But then I heard there was a different original writer and they plagiarized most of it. What's the origin story to the script / novel ?
As far as the origin, I'm fairly certain the concept of a simulation had been posited before the wachowskis ripped it off, but as far as I'm aware, the films are uniquely their vision and their story.
